‘Veep’ Creator Armando Iannucci Quits as Showrunner

Shocking news, Veep fans.

Armando Iannucci, the creator of the HBO comedy is leaving after four seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. According to the report, Iannucci cited that his work in the US is taking a toll in his family life in London.

Here’s a statement from an HBO rep:

We have had conversations with Armando for some time about the challenges of maintaining his family life in London and producing a show in the states.

HBO has tapped David Mandel (Curb Your Enthusiasm) to replace his post as showrunner. No word yet if Veep will return for a fifth season.

Veep season 4 premieres Sunday, April 12 on HBO.
